Downsizing

“Guiding you to your new home”

When you’ve lived in the same place for decades, become settled and comfortable, you will not only have accumulated memories and attachments, but more and more possessions. As you decide to move and downsize, figuring out what to do with those items can be a difficult and draining task, one that people often put off for as long as they can.

Don’t procrastinate. This will only exacerbate the issue and cause the eventual cost, in time, money, and energy to be even greater.  If you’re unsure of where to begin, there are some key questions you should begin by asking:

  • What size is the property am I moving to?
  • What do I want to keep no matter what?
  • Which items will fit in my new home?

When it comes to the last question, there’s a lot to consider. It’s not just about the volume of space, but the layout and the style of it. A move to a more modern property means a different layout, one where formal dining areas and living spaces are replaced with nooks, bars, and a minimalist open-plan approach.

As they say, "there is no better time than the present" and if you've been thinking about getting rid of the that massive credenza, now is the time to do it! This means saying goodbye to the ornate dining room table, and it may mean having to replace all your furniture and appliances, or a rethink of the aesthetic you want. Whatever it takes, we have the expertise to guide you through the whole process. Whether that’s advising, or setting a strict schedule we can help you avoid the mistakes.
